Caraval.jpgBooksInNeed, with a book (that I’m 90% sure most of you have already finished) where magic is always a possibility.

Caraval by Stephanie Garber

Scarlett Dragna has always wanted for her and her sister, Tella, to go the most magical game in the world, Caraval. Caraval is a game with a series of tests and only the best can win and get the prize of one wish. Every year Scarlett has been writing to Legend, the master of the Caraval. Every year there is no reply. The only thing is that Scarlett can’t leave the tiny island that she was born and raised on. Years pass, letter after letter to Legend but no response. Scarlett loses all hope, and agrees to the arranged marriage from her father, trying to live a normal life without magic. Except that she doesn’t even know the name of her fiancé. Then she finds out that a strange sailor has his sights on her sister, and gets tickets to the only game she has always wanted to go to. Coincidence? Or was it fate? Tella convinces the sailor to take Scarlett and herself to Caraval, but Scarlett doesn’t want to go this time. After all her letters, why now? Why when she was going to get a new life with her time on the tiny island gone? Unwillingly, Scarlett gets forced to go with Tella and the sailor to Caraval, where Tella goes missing. After entering the game, Scarlett realizes that the game this year was to find her sister. With the sailor by her side, could Scarlett finish the game first, or is her love for her sister not enough?

Remember, its only a game…

Every person has the power to change their fate if they are brave enough to fight for what they desire.
